Adventures in Ink

It all starting with a book Make Ink a forager’s guide for natural ink making. I instantly fell in love with making ink from food scraps to copper hash. It was like a chemistry experiment with food and ph shifters. All of this collection is hand drawn with a mono line pen then I added the food scraps in the circle instead of paint.

Watercolor Succulents

Flowers and plants are my favorite subjects to paint. With over hundreds of different varieties of succulents makes them delightful to paint. I am constantly amazed at the colors of each plant and which one grows flowers. I get the question a lot about my garden, and yes I have succulents in my garden since they are so easy to take care of. Many of my paintings have multiple layers of watercolor paint to get the vibrant colors. Since I use photos to paint from I have friends sending me pictures of their succulents.

Watercolor Florals

Watercolor floral paintings that capture the delicate beauty and vibrant colors that make the flowers look lifelike. I build up layers of colors to add depth and texture to the flowers, I often paint on watercolor paper on a birch board to achieve this.
